Nah, I just download my media so I can do what I want with it. I don’t need to deal with their weird and authoritarian obscure rules. I ran into this same type of arbitrary lines region stuff a couple years back when I first started traveling for work and it was such a hassle I just quit dealing with their services. I already had multiple servers set up that needed routine maintenance anyway so it was trivial to just add more storage—my media stays where I put it and I don’t have to fight with their creepy shit. There are so many automated workflows these days that make it as easy as streaming to grab new content and its always there, forever, to play on any device I want, wherever, whenever, and on any software I choose.

The streaming services all having different content in different locations was the absolute worst. I had like 7 steaming services and I’d be looking forward to continue binging some show while on a work trip only to find out I was forbidden because I crossed to the wrong side of their imaginary line. So I’d suck it up and start some show that was allowed on that side, and then get home and look to finish it, but nope, show not available, wrong side again!! Just so creepy.

I tried to use their services, I really did, but the principle of it and the traveling just made it too frustrating.
